We all love something sweet now and again, however we also don’t want to binge on an entire cake. Here are some snacks/treats that have helped me curb those sweet cravings.
1. Date bars
You can make these at home or find many varieties at the grocery store. Larabars has tons of different varieties to choose from. Just always make sure to read the ingredients. I have also recently discovered RX bars. These one have egg whites. So thumbs up on the extra protein.
2. Banana ice cream
Put frozen bananas in a food processor and a touch of natural sweetener like honey or maple syrup. Drizzle in a bit of unsweetened nut milk. I like to add some dark chocolate or nuts on top for texture.
3. Iced protein coffee
This is a good one to take with you in the car. Add ice, protein powder, cold brew black coffee and a touch of nut milk and blend. If you like it sweeter, add stevia. I also like to add cinnamon.
4. Chocolate coconut oil bark
1/2 cup of melted coconut oil 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocao powder and 1/4 cup of maple syrup. I always sprinkle sea salt and unsweetened coconut shreds on top. Put in the refrigerator until it sets.
5. Apples and almond butter
I like granny smith apples with this one. I also like it with banana or celery sticks.
These treats have really helped me deal with sugar cravings. Fruit is also an awesome way to help curb sugar cravings.
